Meteorological modelling and agricultural adaptation, offered at Boku Vienna (Austria)*;
The specialisation offered at Universität für Bodenkultur (Boku) in Vienna* aims at training graduates who are able to contribute to the modelisation of climate change scenarii from an agricultural point of view. This requires a general capacity in both modelling and meteorology, while also the capacity to foresee changes at very low scales (since agriculture/climate interactions are especially local) which are not commonly addressed by meteorological models. Themodelisation of the impacts of the climate change on agriculture and natural resources are another (different) issue that requires to combine agroclimatology with ecophysiology of plants and animals. Finally, the consequences in terms of agricultural changes and innovation is addressed, since the intervention on the capacity of rural societies and agricultural environments to adapt to the foreseen changes is a required competence.
The M2 in Boku is given in english.
